One of my favorite hiking trails near our house in Hollywood starts in a park called Fern Dell, and winds through a grove of redwood trees and up a fire road to the Griffith Observatory.
Although I was a little sad to be doing it without Mr. W on Saturday,
the weather made up for it pretty quickly.
January is one of my favorite
months in Southern California because so often we have 70°+
temperatures and crystal blue skies. (Yes, that blue strip in the picture below is the ocean.)
And to think in 6 or 7 months I'll be living somewhere even more beautiful than this. Even though I'm missing my man, there are lots of things making me feel like a lucky girl these days.
I can practically feel the warmth of these photos ... which is pretty much what I need right now, given that it's in the single digits here in Chicago. [Sigh]
ReplyDeleteHow pretty. As much as I love (and partake in) all the hiking available here, seeing new places is so great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous day! It's been foggy here for 5 days straight.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit it: on a good day, L.A. can put on a heckuva good show...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Mel! *twinge of jealousy* So glad to hear you're doing well during this. :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, your verification bot just had me type "arseville." LOL! That is the best one EVER.
ReplyDeleteAs a hiking enthusiast, I would love to visit this area someday!!
ReplyDeleteSuper views! I'm glad you took pictures and enjoyed yourself!
